An initiative of MiniCo Publishing, The Parham Group, and Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., the index is designed to anticipate the effects of economic conditions and trends on self-storage operations. "This quarter's results demonstrate the effects of the slowing national economy on self-storage owners and operators," commented Poppy Behrens, co-publisher, MiniCo Publishing. She added, "Despite indications that self-storage earnings have continued to grow during the last quarter of 2008, respondents report diminishing confidence in the areas of rental income, occupancy, cap rates, and the outlook for the national economy."
